Kuala Lumpur, April 1, 2021 – Today, both Dropee and Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) officiated their partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enable MARA Bumiputera entrepreneurs to grow their business using Dropee’s omni-commerce technology.

Dropee’s Managing Director, Aizat Rahim, said this partnership came at the right time as the economy is recovering from COVID 19, thus this is an opportunity to expand the local supply chain and empower Bumiputera-owned small and medium businesses to sustain and remain competitive.

In an effort to create a seamless online & offline wholesale experience for buyers and sellers alike, Dropee believes in creating a supportive supply-and-demand ecosystem that will in turn boost the economy across all industries, firstly by ensuring the business viability of Bumiputera entrepreneurs affected by COVID 19. With this in mind, they have created vast opportunities for local SMEs to grow digitally with:

  • Dropee Finance:  Business financing scheme for SMEs such as retailers or suppliers. Dropee provides Invoice Factoring and Supply-Chain Financing Scheme to verified businesses on our platform
  • Dropee Credit: Dropee provides an alternative payment method and extended credit term together with our partners with an automated Know-Your-Customer (KYC) of various business sectors, from Micro SME (MSME) to Distributors and even Manufacturers
  • Dropee Direct (Platform Services) – A easy-to-use dashboard to manage all business processes, from ordering, procurement and even payment collections
  • Dropee Digitalisation: Managed Services & Training – Assists all existing industry players to transform their business procurement, sales and operations
  • Dropee API & OmniChannel – Enables Retailers and Suppliers to buy and sell on both B2B & B2C such as Shopee, Lazada and many others on one single dashboard

To kick off this collaborative framework, both parties will work together to educate local entrepreneurs through training sessions, advisory services and industry knowledge guidance according to their respective areas of expertise. The inaugural sessions will be conducted in two locations – Kuala Lumpur and Malacca, with the first successfully held from 23-25 March, attended by over 100 businesses.

This partnership with MARA, which ties in with their entrepreneurship development program, is fitting in guiding entrepreneurs to find suitable avenues where they can grow their business strategies effectively. The focus will be on the application of technology  in improving operational efficiency, commercialisation, and growing sales by applying the market concept of “Business to Business to Consumer” (B2B2C). Entrepreneurs using this platform will be able to better understand and analyse price offerings from manufacturers and distributors, manage inventory in a more structured manner, and receive advice and guidance from market experts.

Also present at the launch ceremony were MARA Chairman, Dato ‘Hajah Azizah Binti Mohd Dun, Executive Director of Dropee, Puan Haslinda binti Rasip.
