Malaysia is no stranger to lockdowns at this stage, having gone through many MCOs since early 2020 to mitigate the pandemic. But every lockdown has only added more strain to the economy. MSMEs and SMEs, in particular, have been severely impacted, causing the government to intervene with initiatives to boost business growth.

With the current restrictions, offline channels are becoming more futile as many sectors are not allowed to operate altogether or with limitations.

While the country is expected to transition into Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan, there is a need for more sustainable solutions to help businesses survive beyond the pandemic.

Digital Transformation is Key to Boost Business Growth

Digital Transformation is Key to Boost Business Growth

Despite the hit to our economy, the pandemic has opened the doors to new opportunities in e-commerce. Online solutions and platforms provide important channels for SMEs to digitalise and grow as offline trade remains stagnant.

By going online, businesses can:

  • Expand into new markets
  • Improve productivity
  • Lower operation costs
  • Access insightful data

Now is the perfect time for businesses to capitalise on increased online consumption and leverage new technologies. That said, many businesses lack resources and the right support to digitalise. This is where we come in!

Dropee Collaborates with MDEC

Dropee is taking part in an initiative by Malaysia’s Ministry of Finance to launch the Go-eCommerce Onboarding Campaign in collaboration with The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).

MDEC is an agency under the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia and has led the nation’s digital transformation for 25 years by providing equitable digital opportunities to businesses.

MDEC holds steadfast to its resolve to equip and enable Malaysian businesses to navigate and thrive through these business unusual times. With strong support from the Government and effective public-private collaborations, we aim to further catalyse the growth of eCommerce in Malaysia and of equal importance, sustaining livelihoods and jobs in the process.

Surina Shukri, CEO of MDEC

In the Go-eCommerce campaign, Dropee will be introducing subsidies for B2B sellers to bring their wholesale business online – enjoying up to RM3,200 funding!

How Go-eCommerce Helps Boost Business Capabilities

The Go-eCommerce campaign is part of the Belanjawan 2021 (National Budget) initiatives. As part of the budget, the government is injecting RM100 million worth of incentives to support Malaysian businesses from various sectors to go online. This initiative will boost business growth by enhancing e-commerce sales capability.

This campaign resonates with Dropee’s vision of simplifying wholesale and distribution trade so they can grow and scale easily. It has been a long time coming in the face of a pandemic that is not looking to cease anytime soon, and local businesses need our support.

Lennise Ng, CEO of Dropee

Dropee is honoured to be a part of this initiative in extending growth opportunities to SMEs and MSMEs in both the Dropee ecosystem and the B2B market.

#1 Get Four Months Subscription Fee Off Dropee Direct

Transitioning online can be a costly and time-consuming task for businesses, especially if you are starting from scratch. Digital solutions take years to develop and go through an extensive testing period before they are ready.

You can avoid this altogether by signing up on an e-commerce platform that already has all the features ready to go for you to take your business online!

Dropee Direct is a one-stop B2B e-commerce suite that provides businesses with a platform to scale and grow online in no time. Signing up on Dropee Direct allows you to:

  • Build and customise your online store in minutes.
  • Sell faster, smarter and in larger volume.
  • Personalise the sales experience with customised pricing and promotions.
  • Track inventory movement in real-time.
  • Streamline backend processes by integrating existing softwares.
  • Make smarter decisions with actionable sales and customer analytics.

The Go-eCommerce campaign aims to empower B2B businesses to expand online by subsidising RM2,400 of your Dropee Direct annual subscription fees. With the subsidy, you get to use Dropee Direct at no charge for four months!

#2 First Promo Campaign Subsidy

Promotions are essential to drive sales, especially in an economic downturn. When tapping into a new market, promotions are a great way to capture customers’ initial attention and build brand awareness.

But while promotions are effective, they will ultimately cost you. And in the current climate, everybody’s looking to shave off as many additional costs as possible.

With this in mind, we’re offering to support your first promotion campaign on Dropee Direct as part of the Go-eCommerce initiative.

First-time buyers purchasing from your online store can get RM400 off their order with a minimum spend of RM800. In short, if your customer’s order total is RM800, you can give them a 50% discount at no cost as we will absorb the RM400!

#3 Earn More with 0% Payment Gateway Fee

Payment gateway services are one of the most critical features of your e-commerce store. The right payment gateway offers security and a seamless experience that keeps customers coming back. But this peace of mind comes at a price. Payment gateway services charge between 2% to 3% per transaction.

These fees are generally unavoidable in e-commerce. However, through this campaign, you don’t have to worry about it for your first few transactions on Dropee Direct.

For the first RM10,000 sales volume under the Go-eCommerce campaign, you won’t be charged any payment gateway fees!

Want to join our marketplace instead? You’ll receive great incentives too!

If you join as a seller on Dropee Marketplace, you can enjoy 0% payment gateway fees for the first RM10,000 sales volume on your store if you are:

  • Registered seller on Dropee
  • Businesses with SSM registration
  • Monthly sales turnover of less than RM4M per month
  • Qualified MSME under the SME Corp definition

Am I Eligible for the Go-eCommerce Onboarding Campaign?

The Go-eCommerce Onboarding Campaign is open to wholesale businesses both in the Dropee ecosystem and in the Malaysian B2B market. You are eligible for the campaign if you are:

  • An existing seller on Dropee
  • New corporate sellers with SSM (Malaysian business registration number)
  • Malaysian MSMEs defined by SME Corporation

If you are a seller on Dropee’s online marketplace, this is your chance to obtain more advanced e-commerce features and expand your business at a bargain. For new sellers and MSMEs, we can help you build a digital presence with the right tools and support.
